An approval workflow is a recorded request and decision on the live file: who asked, who decided, and what they decided, so the job can move without reconstructing consent from chat.
Also called: built-in approvals, file approval.
A thumbs-up in a messenger is not recoverable six months later. Customer Flow treats approval as part of the file: the next person sees the request in the workspace, and the audit trail keeps the decision.
Set who can approve in roles. Do not leave “everyone can pass the file” as an accident.
